What is chartering ?
Chartering a yacht is all about hiring a boat, with or
without skipper for a period while you sail. Sometimes there is a crew to do
all the work for you. Sometimes there isn't. Whether there is or not depends on
the price you want to pay anbd where you want to go and your sailing
experience.
Why charter ?
Chartering a boat allows you mobility during a holiday that
can only be compared to a cruise - you go where you want, in the style and pace
you want. The pace is moderately slow and refined and the atmosphere is what
you make it.
How much does it cost?
The costs we charge are intended to cover the moorings,
shared food & drink and some overheads. The idea is not for profit. The
more people the cheaper the sailing gets!.
for real figures: how does £150 a week sound , plus
shared food costs ?
Remember you have to get to the boat : fly, drive, however
....
How long have we been doing it?
We've been sailing about 15 years now, from local coastal
trips in the Liverpool
Bay, to North Wales
and the Isle of Man. To night sailing to
Ireland and the
West Coast of Scotland to the sea crossings from
Liverpool to the
Mediterranean via Ireland, France and Portugal.
We've been sailing out of Spain for about 3 years now.
Where have you been ?
We've sailed to Malta, the Balearics ( Ibiza and the others
!), Malaga, Costa Brava, Ireland, West Coast of Scotland and more ...
What's the catch ?
You need to be relatively fit, have some sailing experience
already and have at least a months straight time to spend sailing. Any less
time and the trips tend to be spent more picking up and dropping off people
than actually sailing.
In this respect the ideal group of people might be the
retired, those between jobs, students and those going walkabout across Europe
looking for a slightly different view on Mediterranean life.
