This page is all about observations of comets over the years and the ensuing photographs.

P/Halley 1986

This image is the only one I managed to take of Halley during my 'O' level Astronomy year at Rossall. This photo was taken using the 8" f/6 Newtonian piggy-backed as a camera on the back of the 6" Cooke. the camera was used at prime focus for 2 minutes onto Ilford FP4 film.

			This image was taken by an OM1 piggybacked on the side of the Vixen SP-102 while tracking. The image is not guided, the tracking alignment is sufficient for this length of exposure at this short focal length.
			Short exposure at prime focus of the Vixen SP-102 refractor, showing the colour and structure close to the nucleus.
			This photograph shows more detail at the expense of the colour data. The two tails at the nucleus are quite clear.
